Abstract : A new equation for the heat transfer coefficient was developed by comparing the experimental data to the numerical solution of the heat balance equations for both rice and air. A comparison was made betwe(~n the Wang er al. equation and the equation developed in this research. The latter equation was used in the simulation of the concurrent-tlow rice dryer.
